NY: Gov. Cuomo Supports Banning Sex Offenders From Subway

You see all kinds of things on the subways, but if one New York City lawmaker has his way, repeat sex offenders won’t be among them.

City Councilman Chaim Deutsch’s proposed ban is designed to prevent certain sex offenders from taking public transportation, CBS2’s Jessica Moore reported Wednesday. Full Article

So I hope I did not make a mistake but I revealed on that site that I was a registrant. I do not care what they think or whatever but I am sure they will probably kill my FaceCrook page. Maybe we will see. That is a good place Will Allen to educate some of these people. And you might not agree with what I stated, but they have to see that we are not all like the person that the lady was talking about that she molested her 3 and 4 year old cousins. Like I stated on the… Read more »

Although my offense was not against a little kid and was the online BS I am sure a lot of people would say the same shit about me so I am not trying to lay judgement either. I am just stating facts.

Got cuttoff there,
facts of what my first reactions would be.. I would probably let the cops handle it, but it would be hard. If it was my child or grandchild though, it would be really hard to say if I would let the cops handle that one without being in that position. So I can understand where some of these people are coming from, their registry answer is just what the problem is.

she stated he molested her 3 and 4 year old cousins.

I feel like you can go either way with revealing that you are a Registrant. I’ll rarely do it simply because it is no one’s business. Facecrook might delete your account if someone tells them. Let us know. Then create a different account. I hardly ever concern myself with what a person did, how old they are, etc. All of that is irrelevant to the fact that Registries are useless and idiotic social policy. So no need to discuss any of it. I do like to focus more on how to keep people from doing such things rather than punishing… Read more »

I also believe this is a good proposal. If your a 2 time offender that has committed 2 offenses on the subway, you should be banned along with those who commit other crimes as well. Ie: robbery etc. Subway riders have the right to travel to and from their destination free from REPEAT offenders, no matter what offense they commit. Ie: Mike R

I don’t see why it is the legislature’s business to do anything, unless it is to provide tools for a judge to use at their discretion or if they are reacting to a real unforseen emergency. I dont care if it is 1 offense or 5. The circumstances and individual have to be taken into account by a judge and the judge, or the jury, needs to decide the type and durations of any restrictions and taylor them appropriately. Otherwise, you end up where we are now…with every city retro-actively deciding restrictions for past catagories of crimes and changing those… Read more »

We already know you think it is a good proposal USA…. Damn, Will Allen was really right. Nice perception…. I did not even see it, just thought it was ignorant, but it is obviously beyond that. It is Ok USA, we will take it easier on you. You really should listen to the adults in the room though and maybe heed some of what they say. You are still one of us on the registry just a little misplaced by their propaganda. It would be nice to see you answer the questions about what is the limit on this. Should… Read more »

Thanks @ACSOL for uploading The Appeal’s article on this topic. For the others here, it is worth the read by Guy Hamilton-Smith. He puts the hammer on the head of the topic.

Would love your thoughts, please comment.x
