- Aung K. Zin had was charged November 10 with one federal count of video voyeurism and pleaded guilty the same day
- He was sentenced to three years supervised probation and $325 in fines but isn’t required to register as a sex offender and has had his jail time suspended
- Zin worked for Advanced Fresh Concepts – a California company that provides sushi services to the Vandenberg Space Force base commissary
- The sushi worker admitted that he had been recording people without their knowledge from December 2020 till January this year
- Deleted imaged from his secret recording device revealed two pictures of him and pictures of ‘four nude women’ from the employee bathroom
This case should be of interest given the current environment of denying folks access to VSFB who have sex offense convictions in their past.

Side note – Vandenberg SFB has not been a missile base since they pulled the last on alert missile from it ages ago. It is the west coast launch and recover facility for DOD et al where unarmed missiles are tested quarterly through test launches as well as other launch vehicle related missions are conducted.
I’m picturing the headline, “ Space left un protected due to sexual predator”. We have expanded to the Cosmos, people. Wonder if we will be turned away at Mars. Of course that would require a longer notice than just 21 days………. 🤣 🤣

Man is lucky he got such a lenient sentence, especially for federal court. No jail, no sex offender registration, provided he not reoffend during probation. Hell, not even “treatment.” These are the type of sentences that were pretty common before the sex offender hysteria of the mid-2000’s. In lots of cases, people didn’t reoffend.
Ironically, had the man been convicted under California state court, the state judge probably would have exercised his so-called “discretion” to require registration for either a 10 year, 20 year, or lifetime period. The state judge would probably have also required supervised probation, as opposed to unsupervised probation, perhaps with some jail time, as well as “treatment” which will cost the dude $200+ a session.
Again, this guy is very lucky. I hope he doesn’t reoffend. But this just shows how much disparity and inconsistency there is in the so-called “justice” system.
It really all is a gigantic Scam.
How is it this story is in the daily mail, A UK Source when it occurred in CA? Are there some other sources in the US?
What I find interesting is registrants are being denied access to military bases “in the name of public safety”, yet this guy was able to hide a camera in a bathroom of a missile base. Where was security?
It seems to me this guy could have possibly used his camera to record intelligence information for a foreign government, yet registrants are the danger????
