The registrant community is in shock today after learning that a 71-year-old registrant was brutally murdered by a 29-year-old stranger. The violent attack that led to murder began in the registrant’s own home after the stranger falsely identified himself as a CPA going door-to-door looking for new business. Tragically, the registrant opened the front door of his home, giving the stranger an opportunity to begin his attack.
Although the registrant was able to escape from his home, he was unable to gain help from a car that he tried to flag down. The registrant then ran two blocks to the home of a neighbor where the stranger stabbed him several times in the neck and throat, leading to his death.
This is a tragedy. A tragedy that could have been prevented.
That is because the stranger found the name and address of the registrant he murdered on a public website, the California Megan’s Law website, a hitlist for vigilantes. According to police, the stranger had a list of registrants on his phone from which he chose his ultimate victim.
That stranger told police that all sex offenders “deserve to die” and that he was “not sorry” for killing the registrant. Instead, the stranger described murdering the registrant as “honestly really fun.” He also attempted to explain why he murdered the registrant stating that because “everyone hates pedophiles…it should be cool (to kill them).”
This tragedy should be used as Exhibit A to prove that the registry, in general, and all public websites listing registrants, in particular, are punishment! Despite the U.S. Supreme Court’s mistaken decision in 2003, that registration is an administrative requirement and similar to a membership in Price Club.
Really? When was the last time a Price Club member was hunted down and murdered? The answer, of course, is never.
The fact is that the registry subjects every person to violent acts, even murder, by complete strangers. This must stop now! All registries must be terminated as soon as possible and in the interim, lists of registrants must immediately be removed from public websites.
In memory of the registrant who lost his life, David Brimmer, I will wear a bracelet I have created today for the rest of my life. The bracelet will remind me that there is much we must do to protect the lives of registrants and their families. Please join me by wearing a similar item that you have created. For together we shall overcome by sharing the truth that REGISTRATION IS PUNISHMENT!
My prayers for Mr. Trimmer and his family. Here in Arizona, this has happened a few times. In 2013, a vigilante used the registry to find a PFR and went to his home. When the PFR opened the door and responded yes he was so and so, the vigilante shot him.
In court the perp said he wanted to kill more PFRs.
We need an ACSOL here in Arizona to get the petition system passed, so we can get off the registry.
Unfortunately, I don’t have the funds to file a lawsuit using Powell v. Keel from South Carolina as Arizona is the same that there is no vehicle to petition to get off the registry.
Hopefully this will open some eyes to the harm the registry does and how the community views us, regardless of the severity of the crime. Truly sad. It’s also really hard on our families because our loved ones also have to deal with people finding out and judging and being ostracized. Modern day lepurs we are. Worse even.
Hopefully this murder will help change the laws that allow personal addresses and other sensitive information of People Forced to Register (PFR) to be made so easily publicly available. I’d like to see lawmakers task law enforcement agencies with being the only ones who may divulge such information about anyone on the Megan’s Law website to interested citizens. I can easily see how and why this would greatly help create a certain level of protection around PFR.
In response to the tragic murder of David Brimmer, ACSOL is gathering information regarding how people required to register can protect themselves without breaking the law. ACSOL is also investigating what type of lawsuit can be filed in order to protect registrants in the future. Please stay tuned as results of both efforts will be posted on this website.

The definition of “fraud upon the court” cited in the image is from the Bulloch v. United States case. This legal concept is distinct from other types of fraud and is considered a serious act that undermines the integrity of the judicial system.
According to the legal definition:
An attorney, as an officer of the court, has a duty of honesty. If an attorney is dishonest and obtains a judgment based on conduct that actively defrauds the court, the judgment may be overturned.
“frightening and high” is no “myth” it is deliberate “FRAUD” deliberately perpetrated to get what they want, SLAVES!
The government has been cha-chinging off the backs of PFR for decades
under the guise of public safety, while at the same time creating a public safety hazard!
Add slander and libel to that as well!
The harm the government has caused and continues to cause PFR and family (members of the public) is irreparable!
I have been sexually assaulted and I would rather go through that trauma 100 more times than live like I have been under this scheme as a family member to a PFR!
My mother in law and children feel the same way. It ifiltrates every aspect of your life and you cant function because you don’t even know where its gonna hit you next!

Mr. David Brimmer was a friend of my son’s and others in the Elmwood Correctional facility. I don’t know why he was there. I do know he had not seen a county jail for over 30 years. I’m staring at a letter, he wrote my son on August 12. “Once again, kudos to you for your resilience, patience and tolerance in and through it all! He was a kind and encouraging man. It’s more than a shame that so many people see the world only in black or white, missing all the intricacies of the gray areas.
I was listening to a morning talk radio show (Heidi and Frank) trying to get some laughs when while referring to a home robbery that was in the news, one of the hosts said “people should rob p*d*philes. There address is right there on the internet and you know they don’t have any guns.”
