Wow. Powerful case here. If ruled against the sex offender, this is a massive green door to violating the constitutional rights of all traveling (or those moving) citizens. All that would need to be done is to craft a law that says felons must be on lifetime registry (with whatever laws created after that target those on registry), to be on their for life. This is a violation of the constitution.
Let’s take a vote. Let’s see if people are willing, when asked DIRECTLY if their rights should be thrown away, to, say, protect children. If the Majority of people in the United States of America vote in favor of throwing away their rights in favor of protecting children, then you know it will be voted on and in favor for. The reality is, that people will vote against it when it comes right down to it, when voting in private. Most people know the truth, however at present, most people are not willing to stand up for the fellow citizen.
There was a saying, … i was not a Jew… i’m sure many here know which quote that was.
“The state must declare the child to be the most precious treasure of the people. As long as the government is perceived as working for the benefit of the children, the people will happily endure almost any curtailment of liberty and almost any deprivation.”
― Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf
Ironically, if the suit is successful, all the state has to do is to declare all registrants lifetime.
If any of those there persons from La. were to move to California, they should be required to register for life. We got women folk to protect. Tiny babies. Small cuddly animals.
When I think of La., the term that comes to mind is FUBAR. We can nip this in the bud by discouraging them from moving here.
Molly..good point ..also a crutch of massive brainwash and propaganda by the totalitarian state control depriving the people’s civil rights as author/writer of the movie V for Vendetta pointed out the foundation of that totalitarian state control ‘protect the children’ hide behind. (2006 movie still plays on tv).
Special thanks to the NewOrleans defense attorney Craig Murdock for stepping up to the plate to advocate and help represent …Thank You ……..had you been allowed to work in an orange county courtroom there would be some have their case dismissed on the first day of trial.
Most states have language that maintains the original state of conviction laws if harsher / longer than their state.
This is fascinating.
