Go to the Pennsylvania State Police website and you can find a link to Megan’s Law website — a list of convicted sex crime offenders. The list includes photographs of the criminal, his or her current address and the crime the person was convicted of.
Those on the list must register for 15 years up to the rest of their lives for offenses ranging from luring a child to rape. When an offender relocates, the victim, neighbors, county and others are informed. The idea behind the Megan’s Law website is that the information will help to keep the offender from committing another sex crime.

The “Frightening and High” recidivism comment rears itself again.
Glad that this person actually tried to contact people to get any scientific stats to push laws, but received no info in response.
But this reporter believes the only reason it’s not punitive is b/c the recidivism rate was “frightening and high”, thus all constitutional rights need not apply. Which brings us back to the point of actual scientific support by the government to prove this.
you know i don’t understand why no one has challenged the courts decision based on false statistics why hasn’t any of these these groups challenge the Court with actual data and force them to address and justify their decisions based on the real data i can’t see any out for the Court if we make a record with actual facts. what kind of justification could they possibly give if the extremely low recidivism rates are exposed and on the record. I think it would be really hard to justify their actions and these laws if the facts were on the record.
