UK: Number of convicted sex offenders in jail reaches record high

The number of convicted sex offenders in prison has reached record levels, with nearly a fifth of prisoners in England and Wales now serving time for a sexual offence. New data from the Ministry of Justice revealed there were just under 11,600 sentenced sex offenders at the end of March, with 779 additional sex criminals compared with a year earlier, a 7 per cent increase.

It means 17 per cent of the sentenced prison population is now a sex offender, compared with just 10 per cent at the turn of the century. Full Article

It’s just a (short) matter of time before Cali and all of U.S. have similar stats since legislatures keep increasing sentence lengths and adding new criminal statutes to the books. Soon children will get a mandatory minimum 10 years for drawing stick figures with breasts or a penis! (I’m being facetious…and I’m not.)
But seriously: more going in + fewer coming out = burgeoning prison population.

Prisons? More like concentration camps to detain those society considers impure and irredeemable, and confines many without the resources to fight for their rights to lifetime internment in a hell hole. It’s social Darwinism at it’s finest. It’s purpose is no longer redemption, but elimination.

*confused* The article states a reoffense rate of 26%. How can that be so high?

Because they are likely including petty parole violations
