Why Current Child Porn Laws Imprison the Wrong People (Opinion)

Growing up, I was taught that prison was a place where people went when they did bad things. It was simple then: There were good people and there were bad people.

As I got older, the picture grew more complicated. I saw good people do bad things, and I saw bad people do good things. But recently, when one of the best people in my world did something that landed him in prison, my beliefs about the justice system and how it punishes American citizens were completely upended. This is the second time I’ve seen this excellent article linked here. It was listed on The Huffington Post in 2013. Unfortunately, people don’t care about things like this, they continue to let their hysteria and emotion influence their beliefs about sex offenses.

Here we go again. Does it take someone with a Doctorate Degree to figure out that the laws and penalties are not fixing the problem. Back to a little common sense. I just can’t believe there is such a lack of common sense in the system. It’s really sad. And these people go to school for many years to contribute so little to society. See an image accidentally and spend 5 years in prison? Come on man!

Good opinion piece. While she covered a lot of material, it’s unfortunate that she failed to mention her friend’s future, ongoing & forever punishment on the S.O. Registry.

Yes, this Country is in serious trouble.

I just read a comment on you tube responding to Mr.Trump’s remarks. It said that his voter support is easy to find on the sex registry because that’s the kind of people that find nothing wrong in his actions.

My point being, this is proof that the public thinks that if you’re on that list, then you must be a degenerate that abuses others. And that is the fault of the very system they support.

I commented to her that not all on that list are dangerous predators and that she should educate herself about the registry before making such a comment. She acknowledged my comment. Maybe I turned one person’s opinion. Isn’t that how a movement starts? 🙏🙏🙏🙏😀

whats up rick…you’ve made several comments now that are really disturbing. I have to comment man. I’m not on here to preach why trump is the only choice we have besides the extremely corrupt Hillary but yu calling trump a sexual predator and that last comment saying someone should stand up and yell sex offender at the next debate is very disturbing, I think you need to regroup because your sounding like the people we are fighting against…you should understand that especially since your the kettle calling the kettle black
..at least if your on the list you are perceived as the kettle…I understand you maybe joking but it’s really not funny
